BRIAN DAWSON
Head of Academy & Founder

Brian has a proud history in the Sports Industry, during his playing days he represented non-league teams Barrow AFC, Workington AFC, Kendal Town and Holker Old Boys. Brian has extensive coaching experience in the UK establishing Onside Soccer Coaching in 2004 whilst working within Carlisle United’s Academy system. He has also worked in the US for Seacoast United of New Hampshire as an academy coach.

DAN MYLES
Academy & Community Coach

Dan originates from Barrow and has represented Barrow AFC at U18 and Reserve level. Other teams include Dalton United and Maryport Athletic. Dan has been working in the Sports Industry since completing a degree in Coaching and Sorts Development. He has held roles at Furness College, Barrow AFC in the Community and Carlisle United Academy in various coaching capacities. Dan also had a summer working in America for Seacoast United in New Hampshire. In addition to his work with RITC, Dan is also an FA Coach Mentor.

CONOR COOKE
Academy & Community Coach

Conor started his football career with Charlton Athletic before moving up to Cumbria. He has represented numerous teams including Cockermouth and Cleator Moor Celtic. After leaving University Conor spent 9 months in America working for Challenger Sports as a regional academy coach. On his return to the UK he started his own business Complete Football Coaching before joining RITC in 2018. He has proved to be a great addition to the team.

CRAIG JOHNSTON.jpg

CRAIG JOHNSTON
Academy & Community Coach

Craig has an excellent football background. Having played through the academy system at Carlisle United he was then offered YTS scholarship terms. Upon leaving Carlisle he joined Workington Reds where he played for 7 seasons, here he scored plenty of goals before a cruel knee injury cut short his career. Craig started his coaching journey with Workington JFC before joining RITC in 2017. He is also now part of the coaching staff for the Development Team.

HARRY COWLEY
Academy & Community Coach 

Harry played junior football for Black Combe Casuals before joining Bootle in open age where he won the league cup. Other clubs include Millom and Barrow Reserves which he was part of last season’s league winning team. Harry started his coaching journey with Onside Sports Coaching, he then completed an apprenticeship programme with Lancashire FA before joining RITC in 2017.

LIAM BROCKBANK
Community Coach 

Liam played Academy football for Carlisle United from the age of 8 to 16. He was then offered an apprenticeship where in his second season he helped the team win the Cumberland Cup. In the summer of 2019 he joined Workington AFC and has enjoyed an excellent first season in open age football making the left back position his own. Liam’s coaching journey began when he was signed by the club in 2019. He has proved to be a valuable asset to the team.

CIERAN CASSON
Community Coach

Cieran also played Academy football for Carlisle United as a child before being offered an apprenticeship. He was also part of the team that won the Cumberland Cup. In the summer of 2019 he joined Workington AFC where he has transitioned exceptionally well into open age football making the holding midfield position his own. Cieran’s coaching journey began with RITC when he was signed by the club in 2019. Let’s just say the afternoon work suits him down to the ground!

AIDAN HOWARTH
Apprentice Coach

Aidan is another graduate from the Carlisle United academy system. At 16 he has enjoyed his first season of open age football with Workington Reserves. His performances have been rewarded with 1st team opportunities where he made his debut against Leek Town in the FA Trophy. Aidan is currently doing an apprenticeship with RITC through the Lancashire FA programme where he will earn his FA Level 1 & 2 Awards. BTEC Diploma in Sport plus numerous other coaching qualifications. He has been a great addition to the team showing great maturity and dedication during his short time with us.
